Winter closure of the start and end point of the Stevenskerk (pilgrims can ring the bell)
The Stevenskerk in the centre of Nijmegen, the start and end point of the Walk of Wisdom, is normally open to a limited extent in the winter months. Now due to Corona, the church is completely closed until November 18 (only Vesper on Saturday November 7 will take place). After that, the church can be visited again on weekends.
Due to the high heating costs, it is not feasible to be open all week in the colder months. Around Christmas there are longer opening hours.

Pilgrims who want to buy a starter pack or who want to subscribe or unsubscribe from the pilgrim register can ring the bell at Stevenskerkhof 62. Manager Rens is often present and will be happy to help you.
If you don’t get an answer, you can go to Lunchen bij De Bruijn on the Grote Markt around the corner for your missing bird rings. De Bruijn is currently only open for take away.
