Willeke van der Wielen wins Santiago pilgrims’ draw

The pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela is a great source of inspiration for the Walk of Wisdom. We do things differently, but we like to honor the tour. Out of respect for that route, we have invited pilgrims to Santiago to sign up for the opening and among the registrations we have drawn one pilgrim who will help the mayors with the presentation of the icons. 

That is what Willeke van der Wielen has become. Willeke returned from her trip on Saturday, June 6, and has not yet “completely landed,” she says. She walked to Santiago from Orthez and walked the Camino Frances to Finisterre. Now, on Sunday 21 June, she will help the mayors hand out the icons of our route to the first 60 pilgrims of the Walk of Wisdom. Here’s to a beautiful day!
