“Who are you when you go back to your source?” (an impression of the silent walk of 8 July)
Return Again
Return again
Return to the land of your soul
Return to what you are
Return to who you are
Return to where you were born
and reborn again
During the silent walk on the route of the Walk of Wisdom last Sunday, July 8, this song (sung by Shaina Noll) was played. The Jewish rabbi and singer Schlomo Carlebach wrote this song as healing for Holocaust survivors. It’s a song with a few repetitive phrases that work like a mantra to return to your original state of being.
Patricia Akkermans ( practice naturopathy Dankh) and Hans Peerden accompanied the tour. They had chosen the theme ‘Free Spirit’.
Patricia read the text below.
‘This theme is very much linked to the energy of the season and to the history of the area we walk through.
It’s high summer, your own energy level should be at an all-time high. It is also a time to rest and to relax. The released energy can be used to get more in touch with your free (creative) mind or your authentic self, apart from all normal obligations. Who are you when you go back to your source?
In the area we are walking through today, there was a lot of fighting in WWII and many young people lost their lives. Young people from both sides, who on the one hand fought for freedom and for the preservation of a free spirit, and on the other hand, young people who had been indoctrinated and were probably no longer aware of it.
In the delusion of the day, we all lose our authenticity or our free spirit to a greater or lesser extent and we are often no longer aware of it. We would like to invite you to try to make contact with the authentic freedom within yourself during the walk and to be awake to symbols in the natural environment along the way that express it. If you find something along the way that expresses your free spirit or authentic self, take it with you or photograph it, for example, or remember it.’
