“What love and strength there is when you have an eye for it!” – report Gigi Dingler

Happy and with a blush on our cheeks, we share the report of pilgrim Gigi Dingler.

Grateful for a fantastic walk!

“The first week of June, I left on my own on the train to Nijmegen. I love hiking, but it had been a long time since I had walked with luggage and even more days in a row.

It was about the only dry week in that period, how lucky I was. As soon as I crossed the bridge to the Ooijpolder, the party started. What beautiful landscapes, what a history, what a wonderful simplicity, what an impressive primeval forest, what funny accommodations, how special that I can live in such a safe country and especially what lovely people I met along the way!

I went to explore my zest for life: what is zest for life for me and why had I lost it a bit? I have felt the strength of my body and mind so well and I am so grateful for that. And the attention for the small in the moment and the abundance that I have experienced, in nature and in what people share. Their smile, their story, their house, their garden, their hut, their view, their bicycle, their car, their food, their suffering.

What love and strength there is when you have an eye for it!

After a week my zest for life was back, I knew again what I can do and what makes me happy. This tastes like more, the Walk of Wisdom is a perfect way to get to know yourself as a hiker and especially as a person.

Grateful people, what a fantastic initiative, would like to continue to give many more people this experience.”
