Walk of Wisdom will recruit ambassadors

As Walk of Wisdom , we want to send out fund applications in September/October 2013. The foundation needs money to develop the new pilgrimage route that should start in the summer of 2015. We are now busy writing the budget and the strategic plan, and putting together a committee of recommendation is therefore a logical step in the process.
A committee of recommendation usually consists of a number of prominent people. When applying for funds, a foundation uses a committee of recommendation to show that there is support for the foundation’s objective. That is exactly why we will be recruiting ambassadors in the coming months to join our committee of recommendation.
‘Forerunners’ of the new pilgrimage route
Of course, we don’t approach just any famous Dutch person. We are looking for people who convey something of the core values of the Walk of Wisdom: personalities who stand for something and show social involvement in their own way.
Since these people often have a wealth of life experience, it would be stupid to just ask their name. The idea behind the Walk of Wisdom is that people can learn from each other’s wisdom. That is why we ask ambassadors to provide a short text for the contemporary book of hours and pilgrims Seasons of Life.
Seasons of Life is a book that will be published in the summer of 2015 under the direction of gallery Intermedi-Art. The book is intended as a ‘journey inwards’ in which living artists and writers create imaginations around universal themes such as good and evil, hope, love or death. It contains stories of symbolic ‘precursors’ of the Walk of Walk of Wisdom and in future editions also contributions from pilgrims who officially complete the Walk of Wisdom .
Looking for inspiring Dutch celebrities
Do you know people we absolutely should approach? Give us a tip from a well-known Dutch person who is committed to sustainability, nature or the public good in his ‘own way’. Someone who respects others and for whom status, money or power are not ultimate goals, but means for things that are really meaningful.
We are looking for people who do not pretend to know what that meaning should be for others and who find it important to create time and space for the question of meaning in the often hectic issues of the day.
Supporting leaflet
Gallerie Intermedi-Art has sponsored the design and publication of a supporting leaflet of the Walk of Wisdom . We use this leaflet in the applications together with the brochure of the contemporary Book of Hours and Pilgrims. Seasons of Life.
