Walk of Wisdom shortlisted for Gelderland Landscape Prize

News

The Walk of Wisdom has been shortlisted for the Gelderland Landscape Prize 2018 with the theme ‘experiencing the landscape differently’. With 14 other projects, we will present ourselves on Friday 28 September to a jury led by Jan Terlouw. We have a chance to win a jury or audience prize of €10,000,-.

Would you like to come and maybe cheer us on a bit? The province will provide lunch. Sign up for free through us (see ticket) and we’ll make something beautiful out of it. We basically travel by train, but if you are going by car or would like to ride along if you can, please let us know in the comments!

Motivation of the province

“We note that the theme unleashes a mosaic of sub-themes. That the new style in Gelderland apparently has to do with space for the river, with streams that start meandering again, with country estates (old and new), landscape parks (large and small), excavation and city and village peripheral zones. The city and public space also come into the picture. Last but not least, attention is being paid to a current challenge in the field of sustainable energy transition. What is surprising is that the new style also evokes the association of ‘experiencing landscape differently’, through routes, stories and events, and therefore zooms in less on spatial interventions in the physical domain.”
