We are looking for an employee for our pilgrim office (max 6 hours per week) and for accounting (4-8 hours per month). ALREADY COMPLETED!

The Walk of Wisdom

The Walk of Wisdom Foundation wants to promote wisdom with the help of a week-long pilgrimage route through a diverse landscape with telephone and internet as much as possible. The foundation is independent of any religion and is based on the connection between people and the world. Our great plan is a marked pilgrimage route in every country of the world. In 2015 we started a pioneering route of 136 kilometres around Nijmegen.

(1) Employee pilgrim office — as of January 2020

The pilgrim office is one of the core tasks of the Walk of Wisdom. It is important that people who want to register receive their starter pack at home on time or answer questions about it. You could say that it is our calling card of the Walk of Wisdom.

The tasks:

• Sending starter packs 2x per week
• Answering emails from the pilgrim office
• Write down the name of the email and place of residence of pilgrims in the list of participants (Excel)
• Sending bird rings to the staging points
• Ensuring that, in consultation with Manja, the orders for materials are placed on time.

Maximum time commitment: 6 hours per week. The pilgrim office is on the Pater Brugmanstraat, but you can work from home. The making of the starter packs is done by other volunteers.

What do we ask:

• That you commit to this task for at least 1 year with a mutual trial period of 3 months.
• That you handle the privacy data of the pilgrims with care and ensure that the packages are sent on time.
• It is important to us that you support the values of the Walk of Wisdom and that you live in Nijmegen.

What we offer:

• Opportunity to participate in an inspiring, young pilgrimage tradition.
• Free participation in activities of the Walk of Wisdom, such as silent walks, volunteer drinks or the pilgrim meeting.
• Since this task involves a great deal of responsibility with a continuous commitment of hours, we offer a volunteer allowance of €100 per month.

(2) Vacancy bookkeeper —- as of February 2020

It is also important for a small foundation like the Walk of Wisdom to keep good accounts. We have now implemented a well-functioning online accounting system and are looking for someone who can support us.

The tasks:

• Linking about 30 to 50 bank payments every month to the correct accounting entries and often already digitally scanned receipts
• Drawing up the quarterly statement four times a year and the annual accounts once a year in consultation with the treasurer

Work is 4 to 8 hours per month. Our bookkeeping is fully digital and we work with the website e-boekhouden.nl.

What do we ask:

• Experience and expertise in accounting.
• Affinity with digital accounting or want to learn how to do so.
• That you commit to this task for at least 1 year with mutual trial period of 3 months.
• Careful handling of data and privacy of the Walk of Walk of Wisdom.
• It is important to us that you support the values of the Walk of Wisdom and that you live in or around Nijmegen.
