About Walk of Wisdom Foundation
The Walk of Wisdom Foundation wants to promote inner wisdom with the help of a 136-kilometre-long pilgrimage route around Nijmegen. We are independent of any religion and leave pilgrims free to fill in their journey. Pilgrims are invited to leave their phones off. Our source of inspiration is the connection with nature and between people.
Walk of Wisdom Foundation has been around for 9 years now. With 60 volunteers and a few loyal partners, we have grown into a great team. Together, we ensured that more than 17,000 pilgrims have already walked the route. The reports we receive back are often grateful and moving.
Co-coordinator job description (part-time, freelance):
The day-to-day management of the Walk of Wisdom is in the hands of two part-time coordinators. As a co-coordinator, you and the other coordinator are responsible for the continuity and inspiration of the Walk of Wisdom. You implement the policy that has been shaped together with the board within the framework of the policy plan.
You are ultimately responsible for a number of task areas within the foundation for which volunteers take ownership based on clearly defined task descriptions and results. Together with the co-coordinator, you ensure the coherence between the various task areas such as: maintenance of the route, maintenance and communication via the site and media, accounting, departure ceremonies and events. It is your job to motivate volunteers and to support or give direction where necessary. In doing so, you keep a special eye on the sustainable values of our foundation.
Your tasks:
- Carrying out the day-to-day management in good cooperation with the other coordinator.
- In consultation with the other coordinator, managing and supervising about 60 volunteers involved.
- (Co-)managing and maintaining the website and media.
- Auditing the accounts.
- Representing the foundation to the outside world, together with the other coordinator.
- Accountability and consultation with the board.
- Time commitment: 8-16 hours per week.
What do we ask:
- Willingness to commit to the further development of the Walk of Wisdom for a minimum of two years, with a mutual trial period of 3 months.
- You are inspired, enterprising and intuitive and stand behind the principles of our Charter – Walk of Wisdom.
- Good cooperation with enthusiastic volunteers, strong in networking, writing pieces and constructively coaching others in the implementation.
- Experience with financial administration and reporting.
- Affinity with maintaining website (WordPress) and social media (Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin).
- Practical and communicative, with experience in applying for or raising funds, sponsors and subsidies.
- Self-inspired by pilgrimage, spirituality and commitment to nature and the environment in which we live.
- Able to think at HBO/WO level and living around Nijmegen.
What we offer:
- Opportunity to participate in an inspiring, young pilgrimage tradition.
- The opportunity to further develop this tradition of reflection.
- A freelance fee that fits the principles of our foundation.
