“Together we are a bridge”

An inspiring meeting! With a candidate ambassador for the Summer Pilgrimage sponsor run, I stood still on the old pedestrian bridge of the Filosofendal on the fourth of May. The bridge needs to be renewed and we were standing there thinking about how on earth we can raise €10,000.

I immediately felt a connection like you sometimes have with people: something in their gaze probably or the step with which they approached us. Naturally, a conversation ensued. We told them what we were doing and they spontaneously pulled out their wallets for a first contribution. When we told them that if we were successful we could immortalize a saying on the bridge, this proposal immediately came up: ‘Together we are a bridge’.

I think it’s a beautiful saying in all simplicity and want to dedicate myself to realizing it together with the bridge. Thank you Wiljo van Gassel and Karin Janssen and see you soon at the unveiling: because of you I believe in it!
