The Walk of Wisdom together with others
We get questions from pilgrims who prefer not to walk the route alone, but together with others. The reasons are varied: more depth, safer, connectedness. We ourselves organised the ‘Walk of Wisdom twice in a year round’, in which we walked the entire route in silence in one year (report René). Last summer we also organized a five-day walking week in August (report Manja).
Organized walking week 2019
A new five-day walk is not possible this summer: our volunteers can’t go. There is, however, a ten-day walk by one of our pilgrims: Simon Wijma. Simon has divided the days in a relaxed way into stages of about 15 kilometers with a rest day halfway in the pilgrim monastery of Avant Spirit in Velp (N-Br). The maximum number of participants is five.
“There is time…. To walk, to rest, to reflect, to talk.” From 18 to 27 Aug. More: link.
Other tips for running together:
- Come to the Orientation Afternoon on Saturday 18 May and ask if there are other pilgrims who would like to walk one or more stretches together. Dangerous.
- If you have facebook: post a call in our private group ‘pilgrims of the Walk of Wisdom’
- There may be a walking week in the autumn of two ecologically inspired pilgrims. Sign up for our newsletter to stay informed (see under website).
- Be put on the separate mailing for the silent walks (mail [email protected]). A new series of silent walks is in the pipeline.
