The silence between the trees, the rubbish and the heath

This Saturday we will walk in silence with about twenty-five pilgrims from Malden to Nederasselt. It is the fifth silent walk in our series ‘the Walk of Wisdom in a year round’, in which we walk the pilgrimage route in ten silent walks of twelve to seventeen kilometers in a year.

At the beginning of the walk, we do what the Walk of Wisdom stands for: making the world a little more beautiful. We do this by clearing the verges between Malden and the Hatertse Vennen nature reserve of litter. Fun to do together – silently – and useful too: there is always a lot of rubbish on that part!

Facilitator this time is former board member Hans Peerden, who co-founded the series of silent walks. His assistant is pioneer Damiaan Messing and we take a break at a popular place to stay on the route: the B&B of Machteld Meij and Ronald Baksteen.

Saturday, February 22, 10:30 a.m. Distance: +- 15 kilometers. More details or sign up: link
