The gravel creaks.
In the future, the Walk of Wisdom wants to develop a magazine about the adventures of a new pilgrimage route and the experiences of pilgrims. Before that happens, we practice on the website. Here is an entry from one of our donors: Hanneke Vermeer.
“For years I have been quite disabled due to an accident with horses. But through wanting and fighting, I came out on top and saw life from the happy side again.
Now at an older age I still had a wish to walk the Nijmegen Four Days Marches. When training, don’t speak but enjoy nature, especially flowers, sounds and colors. My motto now: today I improve on yesterday.
From the collection of poems by Bert Schierbeek:
You’re walking
The leaves are falling
(the road is not smooth
the gravel creaks)
I hear you say
It’s autumn
The leaves are falling
The gravel crunches
