Take part in the National Garden Census!

This weekend is the national Garden Bird Count, which we are happy to advertise. Will you join us? It can also be done from a balcony and if you hang food, it doesn’t count as cheating. On the contrary: all Dutch households together can form the largest nature reserve in the Netherlands by designing a garden or balcony in a nature-friendly way.

Join us this weekend by counting half an hour from your window. A cup of tea or coffee, just fun to do. It comes with a free app to help you recognize the birds.

Sovon Vogelonderzoek uses the data to map out the bird population in the Netherlands, so that policy can be adjusted accordingly.
