Take care of the verge: join us on January 14 (and watch Down to Earth afterwards)
The Walk of Wisdom has recently had its own mercy berm near hotel-restaurant Oortjeshekken. Such a mercy verge is a verge that keeps you clean of litter and sows it with flowers for the bees. In March we will update our own verge, but on January 14 you can already ‘practice’.
Then ‘The Great Compassion Day’ is from Feldrain as Blumenhain. The aim of this organisation is to make our living environment cleaner and more beautiful step by step.
Feldrain als Blumenhain has prepared a special program, complete with walk, clean-up, the construction of a flowering roadside artwork, lunch and film.
On Saturday 14 January, at 10.30 a.m., we gather at the Homüsche Mühl at Nielerstrasse 240 in Keeken. There, the participants start a 5 km walk in which they all clean up the litter from the roadsides and exchange it for a flower bulb. This creates a gigantic, thriving roadside artwork, as a positive memorial to the litter that was there. They walk on to wilderness café De Waard van Kekerdom, where they have lunch.
At 14:00 the inspiring documentary Down to Earth will be screened.
Participation in the clean-up and roadside art campaign is (of course) free of charge. In addition, you will have lunch in the Waard van Kekerdom. Admission to the film costs 8 euros. But…. If you hand in a bag of roadside waste, you can enter for half the price!
