Standing in Love – report by Thea Warrior- pilgrim 131
What an inspiration… the opening ceremony of the Walk of Wisdom in the Stevenskerk on the longest day of 2015. I want this too! But 136 kilometers while my subjects are only suitable for the distances of the children’s four-day event!? How to do that?
On the first walking day of the Nijmegen Four Days Marches, the Stevens Church attracts like a magnet: “I’m going to look at the miniatures of the contemporary book of hours and pilgrims ‘Seasons of Life’.”
Excuses, I know I’m going to buy the starter pack of the Walk of Wisdom . One-three-one… Truly a nice starting number.
And now? The stage maps solve the problem, I’m going to run double! Stages there and immediately back. After all, just cycling is no problem.
The next day I cycle from my home in Groenewoud to the city centre. A knock on the big door of the Stevenskerk: I’ve started! Kerkboog, Grote Markt, Korenmarkt, Pepergas, Muchterstraat. The ritual is born at the Valkhof.
By the way, the Walk of Wisdom is non-religion-bound, but pilgrims all have something to do with religion or spirituality. Take me, for example: I was raised a Roman Catholic and around the age of forty I was afflicted with the customs and rituals of indigenous peoples. Indians and Sami introduced me to the Subtle World of Fine Matter. They state that stones, rivers, animals, and so on are animate and that it is good to live in harmony with these Beings . So why not greet them like our fellow human beings?
So there I am on Wednesday 22 July between the empty stages of the Valkhof Festival: “Good morning, I, Thea-Warrior, greet the Elemental Being and the Guardians of the Valkhof. I walk the Walk of Wisdom and ask for Protection, Guidance and Support. Cycling and walking I weave the Flower of Love. Since I stand here in Love, I request the Elemental Being of the Valkhof to pick up this Love from My Heart and use it to heal or heal That which may be healed or healed here. Hoo!“
Why do I call myself Warrior ? Well, during my Vision Quest in Sweden, I was given this Name of the Spirit of a Flying Pine. And indeed you don’t give Love , you offer it, as at a buffet: “Take your peace.”
Giving is too intrusive, imagine if there would be nothing to heal or heal in that place, it says Elemental Being – that Soul – there with My (or Your) Love in the Hands! Hm, people can make the world a better place because people are the ones who can create Love Consciously.
Via De Kaaij and the Waal beaches I walk up to and including the Groenlanden before I turn around. Back in Nijmegen, I am welcomed at the same time as a crowd of Four Days Marches runners at an unparalleled drum concert.
In short, all the cycling-walking-cycling days I have been cheerfully busy; there is a lot to greet during the Walk of Wisdom . On the last day of August, I weave the last petal. A total of thirty-one turning point mandarins entered. Thanks to the countless winged ones that flew with me or fluttered around me.
Have I been given an insight? Yes… When you’ve taken a bite of food, you first eat your mouth completely, then count to ten, and then take the next bite. Ditto with drinking!
