Silent walk on Saturday 3 June with the theme ‘Celebrating’
The Walk of Wisdom in a year-round
‘Celebrate’. That is the theme of the third guided silent walk. Celebrating is making an opportunity together to think back to a moment, a period, a day or an event.
On Saturday 3 June at 11.00 a.m., the third walk from Kranenburg will start in a series of ten: the Walk of Wisdom in a year. The route goes over about 14 kilometers of the Walk of Wisdom.
The walk is in silence. Board member Hans Peerden and pioneer Damiaan Messing will guide the walk. In between, there is room to exchange experiences.
Out of the routine of the ordinary day
By celebrating, we make space to step out of the routine of the ordinary day and give a place to the thoughts and feelings that come with it. In doing so, we experience what what happened means to us, what color it is, how far away it is, and how important it is to us and others. We can enjoy what we have experienced, what we have done, what we have received, and by celebrating, we can feel again how it has enriched us. By reflecting on it, we can also gain energy to move forward.
With the theme of this walk, we pay attention to the start of the Walk of Wisdom two years ago. With the opening on June 21, 2015, a new pilgrimage ritual has started, and that is ongoing. At the same time, we want to take the space and peace to celebrate life.
The starting point is café Niederrhein in Kranenburg. The end point is the Sint Jansberg. If you will join us on 3 June, we have selected the transport. Come by public transport, as we will not return to the starting point!
Cafe Niederrhein in Kranenbug is the former railway station. To do this, take bus 58 from Nijmegen cs at 10.28 am (be on time, the next bus leaves an hour later). The bus takes 25 minutes. Get off in Kranenburg center and ask for the station, which is a five-minute walk. You’ll be on the same bus with the other runners, so you’re not alone.
For the way back we take bus 83 from Plasmolen. It departs every half hour and takes 25 minutes to get to Nijmegen central station
Participation is free for volunteers and sponsors (‘angels’) of the Walk of Wisdom. For others there is a contribution of 10 Euro, of which 1 Euro for the landscape and the rest for the Walk of Wisdom.
Bring something to eat and drink to share and a valid public transport annual pass for the bus back to Beek or Nijmegen (bus 58).
