Silent walk 18 March: Germination
![]()
Germinated in the soil | awakened by the light | To go your own way
Saturday 18 March is the first silent walk of the Walk of Wisdom. ‘Germination’ is the theme. We depart from the Valkhof Chapel in the Valkhof Park in Nijmegen.
The walk of about 15 kilometers is part of ‘The Walk of Wisdom in a year around’. In ten stages we walk around the Walk of Wisdom to exchange experiences or to get a taste of the Walk of Walk of Wisdom .
Constantly changing guides introduce the walks. This first time it’s Manja, Bente and Lidia from England.
We walk partly in silence. You can also participate in individual walks.
The silent walk starts on 18 March after the Departure Ceremony in the Valkhof Chapel. The Walk of Wisdom regularly has a Departure Ceremony to wave goodbye to pilgrims who are starting their Walk of Wisdom that day. The ceremony (starting at 11.00 am) with text and music is a great start. We attend the Departure Ceremony, wave goodbye to the pilgrims and then leave for our silent walk.
The end point on March 18 (around 4.30 pm) is the Elyzeese Velden, after which we will return to Nijmegen by bus or on foot.
