The Walk of Wisdom

The Walk of Wisdom was opened in 2015 as a modern alternative to the camino to Santiago de Compostela. A pilgrimage route separate from a religion, for which you don’t have to fly.

The grand plan is a route in all the countries of the world – to connect them. A megalomaniac plan, of course, but in 2015 they started small with a pilgrimage route of 136 kilometers around Nijmegen. The route is inspired by the connection between man and nature.

The Nijmegen Walk of Wisdom was awarded the Gelderland Landscape Prize in 2018.In seven years’ time, +- 12,000 pilgrims registered. Nevertheless, the route is experienced as very quiet .
