Registration Summer Pilgrimage open
Registration for the Walk of Wisdom Summer Pilgrimage 2016 is open. The Summer Pilgrimage is a sponsored run for nature and landscape projects along our 136-kilometre-long route. A bee tree, a philosopher’s bridge, a 3.3-metre-high statue of our icon: in almost all eleven municipalities there is a project that you can adopt as a pilgrim, sponsor or ambassador.
At the end of their journey, pilgrims who register for one of the projects receive the mascot of the Summer Pilgrimage: a steel version of the flying bird, the contours of our route.
Why?
A core idea of the Walk of Wisdom is the idea that freedom and connectedness can go hand in hand. That thought is reflected in our icon Pilgrim: the human being as a seedling, who grows from his own, unique germination capacity in connection with the world around him. The symbol belongs to Huub and Adelheid Kortekaas.
To propagate this idea ourselves, we invite pilgrims to walk the route not only for themselves, but also as a sponsor run for a nature or landscape project along the route. Even if you can’t walk the route, you can participate in the Summer Pilgrimage: by sponsoring one of the projects or by becoming an ambassador. Learn more.
