‘To clear my head.’ ‘To be open and discover.’ “To celebrate our friendship.” ‘To enjoy what comes my way.’
On Saturday 18 February, during the fifth Departure Ceremony of the Walk of Wisdom in the Stevens Church in Nijmegen, we waved goodbye to no fewer than fifteen pilgrims. They all left with their own intentions.
There was beautiful music by Mark Schilders, pilgrim Suzanne Steins told about the special encounters during her journey.
Lydia of England led the ceremony in which the departing pilgrims each lit a candle at the Flame of Peace. And of course, Mark’s Pilgrim’s Song was heard at the end. “Go pilgrim, go.”![]()
March 18 is the next Departure Ceremony. Followed by a guided silent walk for those who want to experience the Walk of Wisdom .
