Price increase starter packages: an insight into the costs

Our statutes state that the route must be accessible to people with a low budget. For that reason, we keep the price of a starter pack as low as possible. The direct costs of a pilgrim’s starter kit are €11 per icon pin, €7 for the route guide, €1 for the pilgrim’s lace and €3 for the bird rings. We started with a starter package for €22,- This allows us to cover the direct costs, but not the indirect costs: administration, automation and office costs, travel and volunteer costs, etc.

The board of the Walk of Wisdom had to decide to increase the price of the starter packages from €22 to €27.50. This is also tight, but before we increase the price of the packages even further, we will first try to reduce the costs in the coming period.
