Pioneer Damien leaves (and says goodbye with a bunch of walks)

A dew walk, a full moon walk and a party walk. Pioneer of the Walk of Walk of Wisdom Damiaan Messing leaves and celebrated completely coronaproof with three farewell walks and drinks. That drink on June 21 was also the 5th birthday party of the pilgrimage route.

Damiaan and Manja Bente have been the driving force behind the Walk of Wisdom for many years. He has decided to live in a Buddhist monastery in England. “Indefinitely,” Damien emphasized. So who knows what the future holds.

Friend and big fan of the Walk of Wisdom Jeroen van Zuylen gave a hilarious speech: ‘What… You do it to us! Who is supposed to make the world a better place? Cleaning the Waal beaches? Inventing new pilgrimage routes? Look around you, all those friends, you’re going to leave them now! We are left devastated, while you end up in higher spheres while meditating. And in England! If the British have just broken ties, you will bring them back in! But… that’s a credit to you Damien, against the tide and a connector at the same time!’

Meaning and love

Damien’s boundless enthusiasm and commitment have made the Walk of Wisdom what it is today, according to Jeroen. A fantastic route that has now been walked by thousands of pilgrims. “People who are looking. To meaning, to spirituality, peace, love or just to rest. People like Damien himself!’
