Pilgrim transport Walk of Wisdom
Via Facebook we came across a nice offer from Jo Peeters. An avid hiker himself, he likes to support pilgrims by picking them up and bringing them to their destination. You can read exactly what service he offers below.
Who is Jo Peeters
In my life I have covered many walking kilometers: Four Days Marches, Pieterpad, Camino de Santiago, parts of the Walk of Wisdom, to name a few examples. I realize that all these walking opportunities are maintained by volunteers: maintaining markings, managing pilgrim hostels, awarding medals, you name it.
When I had left my working life behind me, I started looking for volunteer work with which I can support walkers. Since 2023 I have been a volunteer at Pieterpad Vervoer, where I transport Pieterpad hikers to/from the start or end point of their stage. Some overnight addresses that are located on the Pieterpad also welcome Pilgrims from the Walk of Wisdom, that way I also had to deal with their transport needs.
In the meantime, I have already been of service to several hundred Pieterpad hikers, and a few dozen WoW pilgrims. I enjoy contributing to beautiful walking experiences in this way. I live in a central location in the area of the Walk of Wisdom, all locations are easily accessible to me.
Pilgrim transport Walk of Wisdom
Are you walking the Walk of Wisdom, and are you looking for transport to/from the start or end point of your stage? As a volunteer I offer transport for pilgrims, you only pay a contribution to the car costs.
How does it work
You contact me via email or WhatsApp, and let me know on which day and time you are looking for transport, and from/to which point on the route. This can be, for example, the start or end point of your WoW stage, or the location where you are staying (campsite, hotel, B&B).
I calculate the number of kilometers, and let you know what the requested contribution is. If you agree, we have an agreement.
The contribution is independent of the number of people. I can carry up to 4 people. I do not transport dogs.
