Philosopher Schouten of Staatsbosbeheer forerunner

The philosopher of the Dutch Forestry Commission, Matthijs Schouten, will be the forerunner of the Walk of Wisdom. Schouten is the author of, among other things, Mirror of Nature: The Image of Nature in a Cultural-Historical Perspective, a book about the view of nature from different cultures. He is also professor by special appointment at Wageningen University of Applied Sciences on the philosophy and ecology of nature restoration.

Another interesting thing about Schouten is that, as a Buddhist, he contributes to the diversity of our first pilgrims. Schouten also writes a page for the contemporary pilgrimage and hours book Seasons of Life.
