Pear tree on pilgrimage

We don’t experience that every day: a pear tree on a pilgrimage. From the Waalgaard stop in Weurt to the Diepen stop in Milsbeek.
Food forest and picking garden

Our staging area de Waalgaard in Weurt turns a traditional, sprayed pear orchard into an ecological pick-your-own food forest and orchard. This meant that the number of pear trees had to be reduced. However, De Waalgaard did not want to destroy the 20-year-old trees, that would be a shame. That’s why the trees were sold.
As Walk of Wisdom , we also bought a few. We gave one of them as a gift to our staging post de Diepen in Milsbeek. This warm resting place along the way has recently been equipped with hiker’s cabins right next to a large nature reserve. With its own piece of water. Owner Franc and his employees had to dig for a while, but now the tree is standing.
This is also how this beautiful tree was saved. We wish her a lot of germination in the new place. Thank you to the Diepen for the hospitality!
