Ontfermbermen – project for one month

For every pilgrim who registers, we donate one euro to nature and landscape projects on our route. Until 22 April – Earth Day – this money will go to the Bijendichter foundation and their project the ‘Ontfermberm’: take care of a verge in the neighbourhood, keep it free of litter and sow flowers that are beneficial to bees.

In the near future, we will put a bag of flower seeds from an organic nursery in all starter kits. If you register now, we hope you feel called to make use of it! It is nice to contribute to the floral splendour – which is really coming – and thus to a healthy habitat for insects and bees. There are already several mercy verges along our route, one even bears our name: on the dike at Oortjeshekken (photo). The foundation previously planted three bee trees in the Ooijpolder with sponsorship money from us.

On 22 April, we will conclude the action with a joint clean-up and sowing campaign in the Valkhof Park.
