New mayor of Beuningen Daphne Bergman ambassador Walk of Wisdom

We are happy to announce that the new mayor of Beuningen – Daphne Bergman – has also become an ambassador of our pilgrimage route.

Gradually, more and more women are joining our route among the mayors and we really like that. That does not alter the fact that we are also very happy with the gentlemen and even have special feelings for her predecessor Carol van Eert: he was the first mayor of the eleven municipalities on our route who wanted to become an ambassador.

Daphne Bergman is known as a passionate administrator who studied European Studies in Amsterdam. She was active for D66 as an employee in the House of Representatives and as a councillor and alderman in Gouda. Before her appointment in Beuningen (as of January 2019), she was first acting mayor.

The ambassadorship is a symbolic boost for our pilgrimage route, which is gaining support within the region.
