Mosque board member Said Bouharrou
Said Bouharrou, board member of the Al-Muslimin mosque in Nijmegen, has written a piece for our pilgrimage book Seasons of Life and has thus become a symbolic forerunner of our route.
Said Bouharrou, together with the board of his mosque, was in the news with an anti-IS statement: “right now we have to make it clear that Islam is peaceful”. Previously, he stood out for his determination to approach Geert Wilders with respect and love , no matter how much he rejects his views.
We are happy to be able to include his tolerant and loving sound in our book and hope that the route will grow into a place where people respect each other and recognize the common human in the sometimes many differences that exist between people.

From the Gelderlander: ‘Islam peace-loving’
According to board member Said Bouharrou, it is necessary for more Islamic organizations to speak out publicly against IS and other forms of extremism. “We feel that this is necessary to prevent people from becoming afraid of their Muslim neighbor. Right now, we need to convey that Islam is peace-loving. Not only for the non-Muslims in the Netherlands. Our statement is also intended for young Muslims who are confused, who are considering traveling to Iraq or Syria. We want to say to them: you are on the wrong track.”
