Let friendship heal and share boundaries
25-10-2015. Clemon, pilgrim 373
It’s so easy for us to think in boxes: we…, them… That makes life somewhat manageable and we derive our identity from it. But this dualistic thinking also easily leads to enmity. During the pilgrimage I try to break free from these dualistic concepts. I realize that many boundaries are no more than agreements. Walking in the border area of the Netherlands and Germany, I notice this in everything. The people, the landscape, the dialect, they don’t differ that much on either side of the border. I want to extend this feeling of connection to the world around me. We are all one. The same suffering, the same desire for happiness. ”Let friendship heal and share some boundaries.”
Inspired by the website ditgeeftzin.nl , a route camera is circulating on which pilgrims can leave one photo of a place or situation that symbolizes something important to them, e.g. a theme or feeling. Read more.
