Landscape contribution: €555 for Gelderland Nature Fund
Thank you pilgrims! Thanks to your contributions for our starter packs, we were able to transfer €555 to the Gelderland Nature Fund of the Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen this weekend. With this fund, Het Landschap wants to purchase 25,000 m2 of new nature in Gelderland and we are happy to contribute.
In 2023, some 2,850 pilgrims signed up for a Walk of Wisdom. Of the donations for the starter packs , we set aside at least €1 for cultural and nature projects on the route. For example, we support our starting point the Stevenskerk and Natuurmonumenten, and this time also a fund to purchase nature in Gelderland.
The Gelderland Landscape has a few beautiful areas on our route, such as the Heerlijkheid Beek (with the Elysian Fields) and the Heerlijkheid Hernen en Bergharen (with a beautiful old castle). We hope that they will be able to expand their areas through the Gelderland Nature Fund.
