Hostesses and hostesses wanted for the pilgrim monastery Emmaus in Velp

,

Pilgrims of the Walk of Wisdom have a number of favorite places to stay on the route. And the Emmaus Monastery, the oldest Capuchin monastery in the Netherlands (from 1645), in Velp near Grave is one of them.

Do you live close to that monastery? Or do you feel like staying there a little longer and working as a volunteer: the monastery is looking for hostesses and hostesses.

The appeal of the Avant Spirit Foundation (the user of the monastery):
‘We are looking for people who are available for several days. We provide lodging and meals. Check out our website for more information www.avantspirit.nl or www.emmausklooster.nl.

Our monastery is located on the route of the Walk of Wisdom. You can spend the night in the monastery during your trip, but we also receive people for a retreat, writing a book, cyclists or guests on a program activity.

Sometimes people really come for their peace and quiet, but they do eat in the communal Refectory. Others like to share their stories. We like it if you, as a hostess or hostess, have a listening ear, are hospitable and proactive. Receiving the guests and helping in the kitchen, and setting and clearing the tables and washing dishes (together) are the main tasks. Together we keep the monastery tidy.

The rhythm of the monastery is a beautiful fact. At fixed times there are meditations followed by a meal. You can enjoy the beautiful monastery with its special garden and meet different people in the process. An inspiring place.
