Help write ‘the story’ of the Walk of Wisdom
“One does not write to be published, one writes to breathe.” The Irish writer Samuel Beckett once wrote these beautiful words.
Have you written about your Walk of Wisdom? Would you like to write (more) about it and perhaps also send in a possible contribution for the upcoming Pilgrim’s Book of Hours?
Come to the afternoon of the Walk of Wisdom on Saturday 28 October for pilgrims who have walked (part of) the route and exchange your stories and experiences.
We will walk in pairs through the beautiful autumn forest of the Duivelsberg, there will be music and poetry by Dineke de Velde Harsenhorst. You can write your entry for the Pilgrim’s Book of Hours.
There is a mini-workshop on writing by Lucy Holl or you can enlist the help of one of our writers to write your story together.
What does it want to get words? Why did you set out? What did you experience along the way? What is the memory of your Walk of Walk of Wisdom for you?
The new Book of Pilgrims will be the successor to Seasons of Life: a contemporary Book of Hours and Pilgrims (Intermedi-art 2015). Where Seasons of Life was about the wisdom of the predecessors of the Walk of Wisdom (ambassadors), the Book of Hours is about the wisdom of pilgrims. The book follows the rhythm of the route: for each of the 34 route maps from the route guide, we look for a text or image of a pilgrim.
Help write ‘the story’ of the Walk of Wisdom, give something back or contribute to the route and thus help create an inspiring new tradition.
The program is from 13.00h-16.30h (doors open at 12.30h)
Location: Wylerberg House: Sovon Field Study Centre, Rijksstraatweg 178, 6573 DG Beek-Ubbergen.

PS: Participation in the afternoon does not mean that your contribution will automatically be selected for the book.
