Heaven Is Coming to the Devil’s Mountain

A while back I told someone that we are developing a pilgrimage route of 136 kilometers around Nijmegen, four to seven days of walking. The man looked at me in bewilderment: Why don’t you take the car? I explained to him that it’s about the movement, the walking, being in nature. Make time to think. He shook his head: You can also think too much.

A different type of person, but with a point: being too busy with ‘life’ is not good. Relaxing is also part of it. That’s why I’m glad that city brewer de Hemel will be tapping beer on the Duivelsberg in the evening on the opening day of 21 June. This during our open stage ‘Affection on the Devil’s Mountain’. Heaven brings his Infernal Angels and the special beer Mariken, the name of which refers to the famous Mariken van Nimwegen who, after 7 years of being wrong with the devil, repented and went on a pilgrimage. There will also be bottles of pilgrim beer with a special label from the Walk of Wisdom. Heaven on the Devil’s Mountain, I’m counting on a golden duo. More information: http://www.brouwerijdehemel.nl/
