Garden Bird Count 2019

If you walk the Walk of Wisdom , you will encounter countless birds. Did you know that there are even kingfishers on the route? (in the waters near the Sint Jansberg) But, what about the birds at home, in your garden?

To gain insight into the national bird population, the Dutch Society for the Protection of Birds organises the National Garden Bird Count every year. Will you join us? From 25 to 27 January 2019, garden birds will be counted everywhere. The count only takes half an hour of your time and you don’t need to be an expert to count birds. The Society for the Protection of Birds can make new policy based on the counts. You can sign up via the website of the Garden Bird Count and you will find all kinds of tips on how to recognize and count birds. You don’t have to leave the house while you still have your nose ‘in nature’!

Walk of Wisdom supports the bird protection society. We donate €600 to the local bird protection thanks to our savings campaign in the Valkhof Chapel and our landscape contribution, a piggy bank in which we put €1 per pilgrim who registers. Furthermore, anyone who purchases a starter pack in the near future will find more information about the count.
