Funding the Walk of Wisdom Foundation
The Walk of Wisdom tries to be independent as much as possible by selling starter kits. For 2017, all organisational costs are covered with the exception ofof the costs of pioneer Damien.
Inspired by Christian and Buddhist monks, Damien lives simply and a gross allowance of €15,000 is sufficient. A third of this is covered, but we are still €10,000 short. Help us here.
Funding to date
- – Before its establishment in 2011, the foundation was sponsored by 19 people with a contribution of €10 to €100,-.
- – In 2014, the foundation organized a fun auction that raised €1,138.
- – In 2015, almost €12,000 was raised through the sale of starter kits and more than €10,000 through the crowdfunding campaign ‘100 meters of wisdom’, a contribution from the Triodos Foundation, MHB bv (steel construction) and the Nijmegen House of the City Centre (overview of main partners and sponsors).
- – In 2016, almost €20,000 came in through the sale of starter packs and more than €3,000 in friend contributions and advertisements in the route guide
- – Damien’s pioneer expenses were largely paid from his own reserve (now gone).
