Friends evening 16 September: presentation plans and auction
The Walk of Wisdom organizes an information and Friends evening on September 16 in the Stevenskerk in Nijmegen.
The first part of the pilgrimage route will be opened in August 2015 on the 117-kilometre-long Streekpad Nijmegen. It is the challenge of the foundation to turn this ‘ordinary’ walking path into a real pilgrimage route. The purpose of the friends’ evening is to exchange ideas about this. The evening will be led by experienced chairman and coach Richard Engelfriet and will start with a presentation by pilgrim pioneer and chairman of the foundation Damiaan Messing.
After the break, Tim Haarlemmer, chairman of the day and philosophy teacher, will lead a playful auction for the benefit of the foundation. On the agenda will be – among other things – an exclusive tour of the Stevens Church, a pilgrim’s breakfast at Oortjeshekken, an overnight stay in a Bed and Breakfast at the Reichswald, a box of monastery fruit, an afternoon of ‘walking reading’ provided by a philosophy professor and a pilgrim’s mission by an experienced ritual guide.
