For the love of the earth

,

The extent to which you have been inspired in your life – that is wisdom in my opinion. Lidy van Lie Peters.

Lidy van Lie Peters is one of the markers of the Walk of Walk of Wisdom. In June, we went together to put up a pole at the Mookerhei on the eve of a silent walk about ‘celebrating’.

“Celebrating appeals to me as a theme because I am happy with life. I get more and more free time and do a lot of things that I enjoy. It also fits so nicely with this season. Celebrating is not just joyful: abroad they also ‘celebrate’ a funeral. It’s embracing life, to the fullest.

I exercise a few times a week, do volunteer work, including at the Pelgrimshoeve in Vessem, and travel to spiritual places on earth. A few years ago we were on the Machu Picchu in Peru, exactly on the one day that the shadow of a panther became visible through the position of the sun on the mountain. We stayed there all day. I thought it was a great experience.

That’s how I want to travel: not consuming, but inspiring. Inspiration comes from inspiration and for me that means breathing in. Literally breathing the air of the earth, of life. For me, it also stands for breathing freely and deeply. Breathe fully. It’s the spirit, letting the spirit to the fullest, letting it animate me…

When I came back from a trip the other day, I noticed that a fox had given birth to a nest in the back of the garden. My garden borders a nature reserve. I saw the fox with her four cubs sunbathing on the terrace below. I felt grateful and happy.

I feel love for the earth and I like to do something for her.”

The next silent walk will be in September and will have the theme ‘inner peace’ (more).
