First sponsor projects Summer Pilgrimage announced

The first sponsorship projects for the Summer Pilgrimage of the Walk of Walk of Wisdom have been announced. Summer is dedicated to the theme of ‘love of the landscape’: we invite pilgrims to walk the route not only for themselves, but also for the benefit of the landscape they walk through. This can be done through a sponsored run for a nature or landscape project along the route or by helping out for an afternoon.

Sponsor projects that have signed up include the Bird Atlas of Sovon bird research, which maps the current state of birds in the Netherlands. Three beekeepers are seeking sponsorship for one or two trees along the route that are beneficial to bees. The Forestry Commission is looking for support for a pedestrian bridge in the Filosofendal and Natuurmonumenten for a safe reptile crossing near a busy road. The sowing of flower meadows will also be a project.

Organisations can submit a sponsorship project until 15 March via the website of the Walk of Wisdom. We are also looking for projects where pilgrims can eat and work together! Learn more.
