Saturday 26 October is our second silent walk in the series ‘the Walk of Wisdom in a year around’. In ten stages, we walk the entire pilgrimage route in one year. You can participate in a single stage or sign up for the entire series.

Saturday we walk through the beautiful forests of the Duivelsberg with un-Dutch height differences and a real Filosofendal. Then we go through an old estate through rolling hills. With beautiful views of, among other things, the end point Kranenburg in Germany and the immense Reichswald, the setting for the third silent walk on Saturday 23 November.

The guidance is in the hands of our marker Jasper Koedam and his wife Judith. Both are also host families on the route and donate half of the proceeds to Unicef. Jasper is also editor-in-chief of the Jacob’s Staff, the magazine of the association of Santiago pilgrims.

Gathering: 10.30 a.m. at the Geest cemetery in Beek. To do this, take bus 80 in the direction of Millingen from Nijmegen Central Station at 09.53 am and get off at the De Ravenberg stop. Distance: 14 kilometers. In Kranenburg (DL) we take the bus back to Nijmegen, via Beek.

Participation is €10,-, of which part goes to the landscape and the other part to the development of the pilgrimage route. Volunteers and sponsors of the Walk of Wisdom can join for free. Those who sign up for the entire series will receive a substantial discount and can order a starter pack at a reduced rate.
