Will you walk in silence in ten stages around the entire Walk of Wisdom?

In a small group, you will walk in silence every first Sunday of the month together with a maximum of 25 others. You walk along the beautiful route under the guidance of volunteers. There will be an opportunity for exchange during the break. The volunteers choose a few texts that they read aloud for reflection.

Distance per stage

The distance of each stage is around 16 kilometers with one peak of 23 kilometers. The hikes can be quite tough with elevation changes. Some walking experience and basic fitness are therefore recommended. We like to keep running together, so we wait for each other and tune in to each other’s pace.
Part of the proceeds of the walks will go to the landscape of the Walk of Wisdom. For example, we paid for a bench at the Geldersch Landschap with the money from another series.

Enrollment details

• The walks are on every first Sunday of the month.
• Start time: between 10.00 am and 11.00 am, depending on the stage. A week in advance we’ll email you the info.
• Meet at Nijmegen central station by train/bus. Or at the starting point of the route.
• First stage on February 1 we gather at 09.45 am on the Grote Markt of Nijmegen at the statue of Mariken and walk together for a departure ceremony with music to the Valkhof Chapel.

Cost

The contribution for the entire series of 10 silent walks is €80 (including a visit to the Tempelhof of €15, the place where the image of the pilgrim originated. A beautiful place with a sculpture garden) https://huubenadelheid-kortekaas.nl/nl/de-tempelhof/

You can also purchase a starter pack (including the route guide, pilgrim pin and lace for stage rings) with a discount (€17.50 instead of €34.50). The total costs are then € 97.50 excl. porto.

Participants participate in the silent walk entirely at their own risk; The foundation accepts no liability for bodily injury or damage during the walks.
