Our monthly departure ceremony in the more than 1,000-year-old Valkhof Chapel in Nijmegen. Reflect on your intention for the Walk of Wisdom and let yourself be waved goodbye to the accompaniment of music.

Please note: meet at 09.45 am at the statue of Mariken on the Grote Markt, near the Stevens Church. From here we walk in silence for the first 500 meters of the route to the chapel.

The (free) ceremony is independent of any religion, lasts half an hour and is held every third Saturday except December. You will be picked up at the Grote Markt of Nijmegen. Recurring elements are music, a story of a pilgrim and the invitation to express an intention. You will be waved goodbye with our anthem Go pilgrim, go… (text: Mark Schilders).

Master of ceremonies (rotating): Birgit van Onna, Lieneke Akkerman, Manja Bente, Anja Steenbergen or Lidia van Engeland (also offers pilgrim coaching).
Music (rotating): Mark Schilders, Hanna’floor de Roos, Janneke van Dijk or Frank Drijvers.
