Entrepreneur Bas Sanders forerunner
Bas Sanders is going to contribute a page to the book of Seasons of Life and the Seasons of Life and thus become the forerunner of our pilgrimage route. Bas Sanders is an entrepreneur in sustainable innovation and co-founder of the Biomimicry NL foundation.
According to the philosophy of Biomimicry, Sanders wants to make use of nature’s intelligence in the development of technology. In nature, according to this philosophy of ‘design’, solutions are available for many of the problems of today’s not-so-sustainable society. Within this idea, the whole evolution is a kind of design process in which through trial-and-error over a period of millions of years new techniques are tested that enable organisms to survive.
Nature has developed the sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch and brain – there is a good chance that nature can inspire us for ingenious solutions to all kinds of problems. Think of material based on spider silk that is at least as strong as steel but much less heavy or energy regulation inspired by that of termite mounds, etc.
Sanders is a forerunner when it comes to the society of the future and we are happy that he provides a page for our pilgrim book to tell something about his source of inspiration and philosophy of life.
