Details of life: writing and photography workshop
Details of life: what catches your eye?
Creative Photo & Writing Workshop
2 Nov, 10.00 am – 11.30 am
Stevenskerk Nijmegen, free
Looking with different eyes – that is the core of pilgrimage according to two volunteers from our start and end point, the Stevens Church. They once wrote a book about it. We take their definition on the road in this creative photo and writing workshop. Will you join us?
We walk the first 750 meters of the Walk of Wisdom and back in silence. With the invitation to see what catches your eye. This time our attention is not on the big or beautiful picture for Facebook or Instagram, but on a detail that catches your eye during the walk. Take a picture of it or take it in. Once back in the Stevenskerk, we try to write or talk together to name what touches or affects you in this detail.
In modern existence, the “details of life” are easily lost sight of. In this workshop we make room for it. Which detail becomes significant while hiking? What shape or colour does something evoke in you? A thought, emotion, idea, smile perhaps?
They say, “the devil is in the details.” We think correctly: details have a lot of valuable things to tell us.
We are happy to look for it with you!
Marit and Damien.
