Departure ceremony 19 August with special songs and lyrics

That will undoubtedly be another special departure ceremony next Saturday, August 19 in the Valkhof Chapel in the Valkhofpark in Nijmegen.

Master of ceremonies is Lidia of England.

Pilgrim Marlou Elsen talks about her journey: she walked the route in April divided into ten stages in which she invited about 25 people who are important to her to walk a part with.

And Dineke De Velde Harsenhorst sings the new version of her song The Pilgrim. She rewrote the text after completing her own Walk of Wisdom.

For those who want to leave with a small ceremony or want to come and wave goodbye to the pilgrims.

Start is 10.00 am.

Beforehand there is a short silent walk for those who want: at 09.45 we gather at the statue of Mariken van Nimweghen on the Grote Markt in Nijmegen, at the beginning of the route, and walk to the Valkhof Chapel.
