Art of living: flame bearer Lidwine Janssens from Wylerbergkring

Lidwine Janssens, organizer of the Wylerberg Circle, makes her house in Ubbergen available as a place to stay for the peace flame and will be a flame bearer on Tuesday 22 September from Sint Walrick (14.00h).

The Wylerberg Circle is inspired by Huis Wylerberg, close to the route of the Walk of Wisdom. With the circle, Janssens wants to give a contemporary shape to the four areas of civilization of philosophy, sports, art and spirituality. Paul Klee’s cord dancer is the mascot of the circle and symbolizes balancing in life. The circle will meet on Thursday evening 17 September in Antiquariaat Supplement in Beek (7.30 pm). The evening is about Socrates and the art of philosophizing on the street. Damiaan Messing talks about making peace with yourself as a pelude on the peace week.

The art of living requires you to fight with yourself so that you can live peacefully with yourself and others. Struggle to be willing and able to hold habitual patterns, character traits, self-centeredness and limited visions up to the light. So that the twilight of your existence awakens and you can look your way awake in the eye.

New directions and bridges then arise automatically. Don’t worry about the road,  it will come after you, grow under your feet. Your steps make a path passable with others who meet you.

The Wylerberg Circle and the Walk of Walk of Wisdom have in common the pursuit of reflection on life . That is why, as the initiator of the Wylerberg Circle, I want to resume a part of the pilgrimage route, carrying the peace lamp and handing it over to the next companion along the way.
