Annual report 2014 and outlook

In four months…

On the 21st of June we will open the ‘walk of wisdom’ in the Stevenskerk in Nijmegen.

The opening will be a grand departure ritual for the first 75 pilgrims. We are – hopefully not too – doing our very best to make something beautiful out of it. Below is a preview and the 2014 annual report.

Financial statements
Thanks to Richard Engelfriet and others, you will find a link to our 2014 Financial Statements.

The income was 2850 Euro and the expenses 2185 Euro. The largest costs were those for telephony, internet and the website. The biggest revenue came from ourSeptember auction .

All the work was done on a voluntary basis. Most of it is Damien who is inspired by the principles of thesharing economy and the mendicants of the Thai forest tradition. People who want to sponsor Damiaan with groceries or a bicycle are cordially invited to sign up.

Looking forward
In 2015 we took the step towards a real pilgrimage route. We are working a route guide and a real Superb route by nature. Nature is one of our main sources of inspiration!

The costs will be considerably higher. We want to cover this by means of registration fees from pilgrims and the support of donors and a single fund.

From March, pilgrims can sign up to walk via ourwebsite . To keep the route quiet, we have a maximum of 75 starting places per day.

Nice to report: through a relation we now have office space for a friend’s price at a beautiful location on the Duivelsberg, right on the route.

Proud
We are proud of the result of our litter action clean Waal of last year.

We organized 32 clean-up actions with 5 to 10 participants each time. In total, we removed more than 130 bags of rubbish from the nature reserve that will be at the start of the route from 21 June.

And the action continues… Individuals as well as teams from companies and associations are helping. Cleaning up litter turns out to be fun, fraternizing and also useful.
