Huib Wijtenburg from Nijmegen has bought the 999th starter pack of the Walk of Walk of Wisdom . Pilgrim 999 walks the Walk of Wisdom together with his partner. They start in December. At ten stops along the 136-kilometre-long route, innkeepers and managers treat this pilgrim with his special pilgrim number.

It’s gone fast. In the summer of last year, the first pilgrims were waved goodbye and now we are already at a thousand. Stubborn as the Walk of Wisdom is, pilgrim 999 is put in the spotlight. The artists Huub and Adelheid Kortekaas, who designed the WoW symbol, attach particular importance to this number.

Huib Wijtenburg was also present at the opening day of the Walk of Walk of Wisdom in the Stevens Church. He had wanted to buy a package right away, but he couldn’t at the time. He had often thought to start the trip, but it didn’t happen every time. When he went for a walk with his partner, they often saw “the pilgrim” on the way. And right now, they decided to sign up.
