3,000 bird rings arrived

We received 3,000 bird rings. Each of the 11 municipalities along our 136-kilometre-long route has its own ring with the name of the municipality on it. Pilgrims who walk the route pick up the rings during their journey for their pilgrim’s lace: a leather shoelace that serves as a begging band. At the end of the route, the collection of 11 rings is complete and the pilgrim can prove that the entire route has been walked.

The Walk of Wisdom will open on June 21 and starts and ends in the Stevenskerk. It will be the first pilgrimage route in the world that is independent of any religion and revolves around the wisdom of life: experience. Would you like to wave goodbye to the first pilgrims or walk the route yourself? More information about the opening via this link. More about the rituals and customs of the route here.
